How do I enrol for the policy?
Easy! Just complete the application steps via MSIG Online for immediate processing of your chosen product.
Would I need to get a medical examination before buying Managed Care Programme?
Nope, not necessary. Just note that our policy doesn't cover any existing illness or condition you might have before the insurance was purchased.
I'm pregnant. Does the Managed Care Programme cover for 1 or 2 lives?
Firstly, congrats! Our insurance only covers the person named in the Certificate of Insurance. Note that the policy does not cover claims arising from pregnancy or its complications.
How do I make a claim?
- Complete the relevant sections of the claim form relating to your claim. Then submit the claim form together with the following documents to MSIG:

In the event of an Outpatient Primary Care or Specialist Care claim, please notify MSIG within 14 days upon seeking treatment.
Documents Required:
- Completed GP Non Panel Clinic Claim Form at the MMU Helpdesk or eNotification Form via MSIG Online Website
- Original Medical Receipt
- Referral Letter and Laboratory Test Result
- Any other relevant documents that MSIG require which you will be communicated accordingly.
- Police Report & Currency Exchange Slip for Money and Theft Claims
- Written confirmation from hotels or handling agents in respect of claim for loss of use of hotel facilities
How do I enroll for the policy?
Just complete the application steps to submit online for immediate processing. Immediate coverage will be granted upon successful of credit card payment.
How do I lodge a complaint if I am unhappy with the product or services?
If you have a complaint about the product or services, or you are not satisfied with the rejection or offer of any settlement of a claim, you should first try to resolve the complaint with MSIG’s Customer Service Centre. If you are still not satisfied with the decision, you can write either to the Customer Services Bureau of Bank Negara Malaysia or the Ombudsman for Financial Services, free of charge.
Is dental treatment covered in this policy?
Dental treatment is covered only if it is accidental in nature.
How long am i covered under MMU Managed Care Program?
For first year students from the day they registered in MMU till the last day of the academic year. As for returning students who have renewed, you are covered for the whole academic year as per the selected plan.
What are the illnesses that are not covered in this policy?
Please refer to the list of Exclusions and/or Conditions in this handbook. If you have any doubts or could not understand the Exclusions, kindly refer to the personnel at MSIG HelpDesk for the futher elaboration or you can contact us at our office.
If I am asked by the doctor to have scanning done or have an X-ray done during an evaluation for my sickness but then the test does not shown any impairment on my health, will MMU Managed Care Programme cover the costs for these tests? If not, why?
No, the Programme will not reimburse you for these tests. Routine medical check-up or any other examinations where there are no indications of impairment to your health is excluded in this policy.

Will I be getting physical copy of the policy that I have just purchased via MSIG Online?
Your Certificate of Insurance/ePolicy will be emailed to you since our entire process is done online – it’s faster, easier and also paper-less! So it is important to ensure that your email address is accurate.
What are the payment options available?
We accept Visa & Mastercard (both credit and debit) & FPX.
Can I buy this insurance online with a supplementary credit card?
Yup, you can.
I'm working in the USA right now - can I still buy the insurance?
You’ll need to live in Malaysia for a minimum of 40 weeks out of 1 year to be eligible to purchase this insurance. For more details, download the Product Disclosure Sheet (PDS) available in the More Info Section of your chosen product.
Can I buy this insurance if I'm not a resident of Malaysia?
Only Malaysians and Permanent Residents living in Malaysia for a minimum of 40 weeks of 1 year can purchase the insurance. For more details download the Product Disclosure Sheet (PDS), available in the More Info section of your chosen product.
How do I know if my FPX payment was successful?
There are 2 methods in which you will be able to know that your FPX transaction is successful:
1. Email notification sent by FPX system.
2. Email from MSIG containing ePolicy and Tax Invoice.
Who should I contact if I have problem with my transaction?

Cancellations & Refunds
If I do not make any claim under this programme for the whole Academic Year/Insurance Period, am I entitle to a refund at the end of the period?
No.

Do I need to type in my details again if I'd like to buy again in the future?
Yes, you'll need to - it's for the greater good, really! We don't keep any of your personal details in accordance to the Personal Data Protection Act 2010 and other security reasons.
So I went to MSIG's official website and I don’t see your plans listed on the website. Are you sure these products are for real?
You can rest assured that Take It Easy products are 100% real. Take It Easy is MSIG Malaysia's digital distribution channel that reaches out to customers directly. So, you won't be able to purchase these products anywhere else except here. If you're still worried, contact us at 06-2894333.

Claims
How do I make a claim?
You can submit your claim notification:
- online for all MSIG Online products; or
- by providing us with written notice together with the completed claim form and all relevant documents either by mail, email or walk in to our office as soon as possible.

How do I track the status of my claim?
Once a claim has been made, you’ll receive an email acknowledgement. The email lists all the necessary documents needed to support the claim and other details.
If the worst happens, where does my policy moneys go if I did not elect a nominee?
If no nominee was elected, we'll pay the policy moneys to your lawful executor (the person you named as such in your Will) or administrator (if you don't have a Will, this is the person who has been granted administration of your estate by the Court).
If there is no lawful executor or administrator, we will follow Section 6 of the Distribution Act 1958 and pay the policy moneys to your spouse, child or parent.
It can get pretty complicated, which is why we always recommend you to elect a nominee.
What happens if I did not elect a nominee, and I did not have a spouse, child or parent at the time of my demise?
If your policy moneys is not more than RM100,000, we may pay it (without a need for grant of probate, letters of administration or distribution order) to a person that we deem entitled to the policy moneys under your Will (if any) or under any law relating to the disposition of property. A person can also be deemed entitled if he/she is named as an executor in your Will, or has the consent of all your lawful beneficiaries to be administrator to your estate.
If the policy moneys is more than RM100,000, we may then firstly pay RM100,000 to the person referred above and the balance of the policy moneys to your lawful executor or administrator.

How long does it take for my claims to be approved?
It takes 5 working days to assess and process a simple claim. However, for claim that requires further investigation, it can only be processed once the information or justification is obtained. We strictly do not accept medical bills/receipt without Diagnosis/Reason for seeking treatment from the doctors.
Can I claim if I go to a specialist? What is the procedure that I need to follow?
Before you can consult a specialist you must first go to the panel clinic doctor for treatment. If the doctor/general practitioner in his/her professional opinion feels you need specialist treatment, he/she will have to write you a Referral Letter to recommend you to the Specialist for further treatment. Request the Specialist to write down your diagnosis/illness/reason for seeking the treatment on the bills and submit to MSIG HelpDesk for reimbursement (subject to the Term and Condition of the policy). You are required to submit a photocopy of the Referral Letter and original copies of the bills/receipts.
How is the claim settle under Section C – Term Life?
Notify MSIG HelpDesk immediately. MSIG will notify Hong Leong Assurance Bhd, the insurer for the life cover. Their officer will contact MMU or your legal representative for the relevant documents before proceeding with the claim settlement.

Which are the hospital and clinics in your panel under the MSIG Programme?
The 62 Panel Hospitals and 400 Panel Clinics throughout Malaysia are shown in this Handbook. However, from time to time, new clinics will be appointed and existing panel clinics may be terminated. Kindly refer to MSIG HelpDesk for the latest updates.
This Policy shall cover each eligible person age between 18 years to 45 years of age unless prior consent has been granted by the Company for any person other than the age stated.
If the Insured shall have failed to disclose to the Company any Insured Person who is above this age limit, the insurance provided for such Insured Person shall be invalid even though if the Company, having acted out of ignorance and for lack of information, had made and received a premium charge for this person.
